It All Comes Back to Basics

My husband is amazing.  I am truly blessed that he gets it and tries to watch out for me, because let’s be honest, me getting contaminated and being crabby and sick for a week is possibly worse for him than it is for me…

But even HE gets tripped up some times.  We have started to try and eat a little healthier lately.  The air fryer we got for Christmas has seen a few too many chicken tenders, French fries and onion rings lately.  One of the things that is always quick and easy but requires a little thought and prep is stir fries. He had one in the cart from the freezer section and was so proud of what he had found for us.  “Babe, you checked the ingredients, right?  You’re sure it’s gluten free??”

Sneaky soy sauce. Sure enough buried in the ingredients list was soy sauce in the teriyaki sauce that came with the blend, which then listed wheat.

No matter how long it’s been, make sure you always go back and read the actual ingredients label. The more comfortable you get with reading labels, the more you will need readers, but also be able to make good decisions for yourself.  Maybe even someday it will help you figure out if there are potentially other things that are causing issues in your body.
